Brief History of Traffic Exchange

Traffic exchange started with intranet. It is a way for the

institutions to share information between the different departments.

It is where the staff can communicate with each other. It involves

looking at one web page and another, and rating them or giving

comments on them; similar to social bookmarking.

In 1994, the intranet evolved into internet or the World Wide Web. To

endorse the new technology, viewing sites were introduced and

encouraged through giving incentives to people viewing them.  More

incentives await those who browse more sites. In the year 1996,

showing appealing sites evolved to showing commercial sites. Traffic

exchange was commercialized, and this became known very fast in the

ecommerce industry.

Various traffic exchanges started to evolve, giving a minimum

timeframe ranging from 10 seconds to 60 seconds. It became so popular

especially when people started to get higher page rankings. The sites

get higher page rankings when it gets a lot of viewings. So traffic

exchange craze became eminent. On the other hand, there is another

thing that became an important concept though traffic really gets

directed to sites. It is the bounce rate.

The bounce rate is the amount of time a viewer surfs on a site or web

page. It is being used in website analysis. It represents the amount

of time the site visitors stayed in one web page versus the number of

people lead to the site. For instance, a viewer clicks on a link on a

page and is directed to a web site or web page. The amount of time the

viewer spends in the web page is recorded. This is to track how a page

is doing; which is effective and which needs to be improved. It also

depicts if a site entrance is appropriate with the prospects. If in

case the visitors do not stay long on the website, it is called a

bounce.

Knowing these terms, traffic exchange is really a credible and useful

internet marketing tool. It has been proven to work throughout

history. Measuring the bounce rate is good because it depicts how the

site or web page works. When huge traffic is directed to sites, it is

best to know how the site keeps the potential customers.

Through this, the site or web page can be developed into something

better. This is also the reason why traffic needs to be directed to

sites. Traffic is the lifeblood of online sites or businesses. They

must be sent to the sites or web pages to keep them alive. When

traffic is already sent there, it is then time to test how the pages

work; determining what is interesting and what is not.

Since its evolution, traffic exchange has been generating traffic to

different sites. It has been proven to fulfill its main goal

throughout the years. There are a lot of other things to consider when

it is certain that there are people getting directed to sites. The

pages can be tested, and ways to gather contact details of the traffic

being directed must be carefully planned. Then, the online business

success will surely be coming.
